A Van For The Elements: 2017 Ford Transit

Who doesn’t love a unique van build? A customer came to us with the hopes to turn their 2017 Ford Transit into an adventure machine. Phase one of this build included a front bumper w/ auxiliary lighting and a winch, as well as ventilation and a custom fit roof rack.

Ford Transit Build

We started with an Aluminess aluminum front bumper. This lightweight bumper doesn’t cut into payload capacity, preserving fuel economy and reducing stress on your brakes, steering, and suspension systems. It  houses most 9,000lb winches, and some larger models as well. The bumper has brush guards built in as well to protect from any unwanted debris on the road or trail.

We installed a Warn 9.5XP-S winch with a synthetic line, capable of recovery in extreme conditions. In addition we added set of Baja Designs  XL-R Pro amber fog lights, recessed within the bumper itself. We mounted another pair of XL80 driving/combo lights to the top of the front bumper to add extra driving visibility.

Finally, it wouldn’t be a proper van build without a ventilation system. We installed the Maxxair Maxxfan Deluxe 6200k  into the roof and custom fit a Rhino Rack Pioneer Platform around the fan for increased protection and added storage, keeping a sleek look and fully functional rack.

Absolutely awesome. I just got a 2107 Transit (high-roof) and want this exact set-up on mine.
